Tikarpada Wildlife Sanctuary, located in Odisha's Angul district, spans approximately 795.52 square kilometers along the banks of the Mahanadi River. Situated about 200 kilometers from Bhubaneswar, the sanctuary is renowned for its diverse flora and fauna, as well as the picturesque Satkosia Gorge, a 22-kilometer-long formation where the Mahanadi River cuts through the Eastern Ghats.
